Meet Richard!

Richard is an 8 week old Domestic Short Hair Kitten!

Richard and his brothers were found with no mother around and were too young to be left on their own. They were brought into the shelter where an employee took them home and cared for them until they were ready to go! Here is her description of Richard and his personality:

Please note that when Richard and his siblings came in, Rich had a severe upper respiratory infection that spread to his eyes. His eye was sealed completely shut when he we got him and after meds and gentle care, we were able to open it up. He does have permanent eye damage that will cause his one eye to have a blue cloudy look to it. He can still see either fine or partial shadows. He will just have a shadowy eye for his whole life and possible sight issues when he is a senior.

Richard came in full of personality even at 3 and half weeks of age. I had to keep him separate from his brothers for a little while as he was so hungry, he was cross sucking on them. Cross sucking is when young kittens suckle on any part of another kitten that resembles their mothers nipple. I am sure you can begin to understand what that means.. This can be dangerous if it is not corrected. So, Richard had to be in time out until he learned that he would be fed and was not going to starve to death.

Richard has always been dramatic like this and out of all three siblings has became the most needy. Bottle kittens often will develop odd habits that they carry with them into adult hood. They usually are more needy then the average cat. They may suckle on your lips at is a comfort mechanism for them or even a favorite blanket they have.

Richard is gunna be one those bottle babies that will have odd quirks from time to time. Some people may find this type of neediness overbearing, but some people will enjoy having such a lovey dovey cat.

Richard is like the middle child even though he and his brothers were born at the same time. He has that type of personality that is a bit chaotic and all over the place. Richard just does what Richard wants to do. He loves to be in your arms or eating his food. When he is satisfied with being stuffed full of food and love, he is ready for his kitten naps!

Richard is going to be a very loving and emotional boy. He will do best in a home where he can be absolutely doted on at all times!
