Meet Remi, our shy sweetheart. This pretty girl is a 4 year old spayed Red Heeler mix. She is seeking a compassionate forever home where she can feel safe and loved. This gentle soul is currently struggling in the shelter environment and desperately needs a patient family to help her blossom on her own terms!
Remi came to us alongside her sister Liberty. Their owner unfortunately could no longer care for them, and decided to let them find better homes. Remi is a very sweet girl, but she is shy, and is taking some time to get used to us. Shelter life has been very overwhelming for this sweet girl and needs someone in her life that understands this and gives her patience and reassurance. Slow and steady will be key to winning this girl's trust, as you'll need to give her time to feel safe around you. Once you've gained her trust, Remi will be a loyal companion. Already, Remi has started to get used to us and is becoming a very loving and snuggly dog. It just takes time to show her that you are a safe space.
Remi has been around other dogs and gets along great with them. She's also been around kids, which she's also done well with. However, Remi is not good with cats, and will not be adopted to a home with any felines. With Remi being so nervous, too, we recommend a meet and greet with any kids or dogs in the home prior to adoption so you can be sure she's the right fit. Please keep in mind, too, that moving to a new home is stressful, and she'll need to be supervised until she has fully adjusted.
