Meet our sweet and nutty little girl - Hazelnut!

Hazelnut is a spayed Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. After coming to us as a stray and never being claimed, she is now hoping for a forever home where she can be loved like she deserves!

Since Hazelnut was initially a stray, we don't know much about her. One thing we do know, though, is that she absolutely does NOT like other dogs. She's been extremely sweet with all of the people she's met, but when she sees another dog, Hazelnut completely changes. She will not be adopted out to any homes that already have a dog, and her owner will need to be very cautious to ensure Hazelnut doesn't come in contact with any. A fenced in yard will be a must for Hazelnut, as she cannot roam and risk running into any other dogs. Like we said, with people though, she is an extremely loving girl. We haven't seen her around any kids yet, so we recommend meet and greets with them, but with all of the adults here Hazelnut is a lovebug.

We aren't sure what level of training Hazelnut has received in the past. Here, she does a pretty good job of keeping her kennel clean, but she will have an accident if we don't let her out quickly enough. It does seem like she knows how to sit on command, and she's a very smart girl, so you can teach her more once you take her home!

Hazelnut is a mix of two very active breeds. While she's already an adult, she still has plenty of energy and would do best in a home with an active owner. Once you tire her out, she loves to snuggle, but she's not going to be content sitting around all day. Exercise and mental stimulation will be key to keeping this girl happy and healthy!

Hazelnut is already spayed, is up to date on all of her shots, and has been microchipped (which can be transferred to her new owner's info after adoption). All she needs now is for someone to take a chance, and offer her a home where she can learn what "forever" means. If you think Hazelnut could be the dog for you, stop by and meet her today!
