This is Bear! Bear is a four year old Labrador Retriever/Border Collie mix. This happy go lucky boy is playful, funny, and always eager to make new friends. He came here through no fault of his own because of a change in life circumstances for his original owner, and while this has been a big shift for this poor fella, he is making the best of it and can't wait to see what adventures are in store for him next! Bear does not do well with chickens and will not be adopted into a home with fowl on the property. However, he does great with other dogs, as well as cats and kids. Bear loves attention and will happily soak up any that you bestow upon him, and he will enthusiastically return the favor with his affectionate personality. While not severe, Bear does have some degree of separation anxiety and would greatly benefit from an owner who is highly devoted to spending his or her free time with him, loving on him and burning any excess energy. Bear is resistant to being kenneled and will do his darndest to break out of any crate you put him in. He does not have a history of tearing up the house, and it may be best if his was a situation where an owner was comfortable leaving him free reign in the home when away, since the confined space cause Bear so much extra anxiety. Bear has had some basic training, is great with recall, and is housebroken -though we ask that all adopters be understanding that accidents happen, especially in a new environment, and it's always possible a dog may need some additional brush up in this regard. Bear is the classic "good dog," and we just know somebody will fall head over heals for this guy. He definitely deserves it! Bear is already neutered and has had his first round of vaccinations. *Bear is up for adoption individually, though he is very close with his sister, who has her own listing here, and we certainly wouldn't be opposed to them finding a forever home together. Again, we aren't requiring them to go as a unit, though we do encourage it by offering a discount for anybody searching for a pair of pups!
