Meet Tank! Tank is a 4 year old, Great Pyrenees x Australian Shepherd mix. He is a Neutered Male!
Tank came to us only because his previous owner wanted him to have a home with more time and space that is dedicated to a breed like a Great Pyrenees.
Tank is very gentle and very loving. He is just a tiny bit shy at the moment which is completely understandable considering this is all completely new to him! Tank has had some basic training and has mastered commands such as: sit, stay, down, come, and leave it! He is house trained and has been kept in a crate before. However, Tank is not the greatest on a leash which more than likely stems from his stubborn Great Pyrenees side. He does better when he is walked with a harness rather than just a leash and collar.
Tank has lived with other dogs before and gets along great with them! We are not sure how Tank does around cats! He has lived with children before and was a great friend to them! He gets along pretty well with every human he has met!
Tank can be alert to sounds and will let you know by barking when he hears something strange. Another fact about Tank is that he is not a huge fan of being groomed. Adopters should take that in to note when grooming him your selves or making an appointment with a groomer. Now, with this being said, Tank does still need to be groomed regularly! It would be very beneficial to do this more often than not to prevent him from becoming matted.
Tank is a beautiful boy, but adopters should still note his breeds! Being half Great Pyrenees can make him stubborn and when he doesn't want to do something, he is not going to do it! Being half Australian Shepherd may cause him to have herding dog tendencies! Its better to be prepared for the best of both worlds!
Tank is a very sweet and mellow boy who just needs a home with more time and space! If you can give that to him, he will be the best friend you could ask for! He has been started on his vaccines and is now ready to go off and find that new home! If you are interested in Tank, call or stop by the shelter to meet him today!
Because Tank is neutered, his adoption fee is $90.00!
