Meet Benji, the handsome new boy in town!
Beni is a 5 year old neutered Labrador Retriever/Hound mix. He was brought to the shelter through no fault of his own when his owner's landlord made her get rid of some of her pets. Despite this sad beginning, we know his forever home is waiting right around the corner!
Benji has the typical personality you would expect from a lab. He's friendly with just about everyone he meets, and is even good with kids. He's been around plenty of other dogs and has done well with them, too. He can be a little protective of his food, and while he's never attacked another dog that gets too close while he's eating, he prefers that other dogs aren't near him during meal times. Due to this, any kids or pets should be supervised while Benji is eating to make sure he's not having his boundaries pushed. Benji is not good with cats, however, and cannot be sent home with any felines.
As mentioned, Benji is pretty much what you would expect of a lab. He's active and playful, and loves nothing more than to be chased around our backyard! He also loves toys, of course, and will gleefully play fetch for hours! The hound side of him really shines through his bark. As you walk through the halls, you can immediately pick out his voice among the dogs thanks to his loud bay.
Benji is up to date on all of his vaccines, and is already microchipped, which can be transferred to the owner's name after adoption. He's also housebroken and knows multiple commands like sit, off, and heel. So don't make Benji wait too long - come out and meet this sweet boy today!
