Meet Chloe, our gorgeous new addition!
Chloe is a 4 month old Blue Heeler/Border Collie mix. She's a little shy, but is already showing us her snuggly side. She's hoping that she won't be at the shelter long, but that she'll soon find a home in which she can thrive!
Chloe was brought to us alongside her two siblings (Rowdy, her brother, and her sister Chloe). These three were the result of an unexpected litter that their owners could not keep. Chloe has spent her whole life with her siblings, and gets along great with them. She has not met any dogs she isn't related to, and she has never been around cats. Chloe has met some kids briefly and did fine with them as well, but has never lived with any. We always recommend a meet and greet with any pets or kids in the home prior to adoption.
Chloe is feeling a little shy at the moment, and will need some time to open up. She's trying her best is already starting to show us her sweet and cuddly side, but she's nervous and doesn't want us to just grab at her. Please be patient when you meet Chloe, and give her the chance to get to know you first. Once you earn her trust, you will have a best friend for life!
Chloe's previous owner did start her training, and she is starting to sit on command. That's about as far as she's gotten, though, and she is not yet housebroken either. She's still young enough that she shouldn't give you too much trouble, but it will take some time to get her on her best behavior. These breeds are known for their intelligence, but they're also known for being a little stubborn. It's their personalities that draw most people to them, and they have a goofy side that they love to show off. Chloe is going to be an active dog even into adulthood, and she likely won't be a good fit for someone that doesn't like to go out much. Her owner will need to make sure she stays active to keep her healthy and out of trouble.
