Meet Estella, our gorgeous new addition to the pack!
Estella is a spayed female, one year old, Pitbull/Hound mix. She's playful and snuggly, and is sniffing out a new home!
Estella was unfortunately dumped, as her owner never came to claim her when she was picked up as a stray. This means that we don't know much about her past. While she hasn't seemed to mind other dogs when she passes them, we have not yet introduced her to any. We also have not introduced her to any kids. Estella briefly met our office cats, and she didn't show any aggression, but she was very focused on them. She might chase cats if given the opportunity. We recommend a meet and greet with any pets or kids in the home prior to adoption so you can be sure Estella is the right fit for your family.
When Estella first came to the shelter, she was a little nervous. She was never aggressive with us, but would hide in the back of her kennel when we approached her. All it took, though, was a few treats and a little bit of patience, and Estella quickly warmed up! Once she knows you, Estella is a very active and playful girl. She is VERY serious about her toys, and loves nothing more than a good rope toy that she can fling around. Estella is still pretty young, and has plenty of energy to get out. She would love a family that can keep her active and include her on all of their adventures!
Since Estella was a stray, it's difficult to say what level of training she's had, but it does seem like she's at least partially trained. She will sit on command, and has done a great job at keeping her kennel tidy. Estella has received her first round of vaccinations and is all ready to go to her forever home!
