Meet our gorgeous new girl, Maisey!
Maisey is a 10 month old Husky/Labrador mix. She came to us through no fault of her own when her family couldn't keep her indoors anymore, and they felt she deserved better than living in the backyard. Now, she is searching for her forever home!
Maisey has all of the lovable-ness of a lab, with some of that typical husky attitude! She is such a sweet girl, and has become best friends with everyone she's met here. In her previous home, Maisey was around cats and another dog and got along with them great. She seems like she would actually be best in a home with another dog, as her owner said she had a tendency to get lonely and howl when left completely alone. Maisey has never really been around kids, and while she's never given us any indication that she wouldn't like them, it's always best to bring the whole family to meet a new pet before bringing them home.
Maisey has received some training, and she's still at a young enough age that it shouldn't be too hard to teach her further. Maisey knows how to sit and stay, but with her brain still in the puppy stages she tends to let her mind wander. She is also housebroken. However, in her last home there was a doggy door, so she could go out whenever she pleased. If you don't have a doggy door, she may need some additional training to adjust to the new routine. Maisey isn't an excessive barker, but as a husky, she does howl sometimes when bored or upset. This, combined with her energy levels, means she probably won't be good as an apartment dog.
