Meet Remi, our shy sweetheart. This pretty girl is a 4 year old spayed Red Heeler mix. She is seeking a compassionate forever home where she can feel safe and loved. This gentle soul is currently struggling in the shelter environment and desperately needs a patient family to help her blossom on her own terms!
Remi came to us alongside her sister Liberty, who has since been adopted. Their owner unfortunately could no longer care for them, and decided to let them find better homes. Remi is a very sweet girl, but she can be shy when she first meets you. Shelter life has been very overwhelming for this sweet girl and needs someone in her life that understands this and gives her patience and reassurance. Slow and steady will be key to winning this girl's trust, as you'll need to give her time to feel safe around you. Once you've gained her trust, Remi is an extremely loyal companion. As we've given her the chance to get used to us at the shelter, she has become a very loving and snuggly girl.
Remi has been around other dogs and gets along great with them. It's typical for dogs to start to get reactive the longer they stay at the shelter, though, as this is a very stressful and loud environment. We recommend a meet and greet with any canines in the home, and please keep in mind that supervision may be needed as Remi gets used to her new home. She's also been around kids, which she's also done well with. However, Remi is not good with cats, and will not be adopted to a home with any felines.
