Meet Rocky! Rocky is a one year old neutered Labrador Retriever mix. This fun loving young fella is a happy and bouncy boy who just wants to have a good time.
Rocky is full of spunk and loves to just play, play, play! He definitely needs an active owner who is willing to devote time to burning that excess energy. This handsome guy could use some more training. He was surrendered to us through no fault of his own due to his previous owner being unable to properly train or handle the dog. Some dogs are nervous when they first come to the shelter, but not Rocky! He was ready to make friends with everyone he meets. On his first full day here, we even found him some canine buddies to play in the yard with. Rocky seems like the type of dog to get along with just about anyone!
Rocky is exactly what you would expect from a young lab. Anyone who's dealt with this breed knows that they're known for being energetic and full of life. They're also extremely intelligent. Rocky needs a little more work on his training, and will need an owner with the patience to help him learn. Rocky already knows a couple of commands - sit and down. He also knows how to walk on a leash, though he tends to pull. He is even housetrained! The main thing Rocky needs to work on is his tendency to jump. He gets se excited to see people that he doesn't remember to keep his paws on the ground. Due to this, we recommend caution if trying to bring him to a home with children or small pets. Rocky has been around other dogs and cats, and did well with them, but he can play a little rough. We always recommend a meet and greet with any pets or kids in the home prior to adoption.
Rocky is up to date on his vaccinations, and is ready to get out of the shelter! If you're looking for a pooch that will bring you lots of joy, then look no further than Rocky!
