Meet Stanley!
Stanley is an eleven month old neutered Great Pyrenees. This handsome and oh-so-sweet boy is here through no fault of his own, really; he just wasn't a good fit for his previous family. Stanley loves everyone he's ever met - whether that be animals or people. The downfall is simply his lack of training. Stanley is a big boy with big energy, and he can easily cause chaos. He doesn't have a malicious bone in his body, but he just simply doesn't realize his size and strength. Like most Pyrenees, Stanley has a bit of a stubborn side. While he is invested in making his humans happy, Stanley is also more than a little willing to challenge his owners if his interests differ from those of his people. This boy needs an owner with a firm hand and a lot of patience who will be committed to training Stanley.
Don't let this scare you, though, as Stanley is genuinely such a sweet and loving boy! He is friendly, affectionate, and endlessly playful. At this point, he's essentially a big puppy who hasn't had someone take the time to work with him. Stanley is already potty trained, crate trained, and is very trustworthy around furniture and other belongings. He needs a lot of work with recall, as he is definitely one to go on adventures if an opportunity arises. Stanley has been around kids, though as stated, he should be taught not to jump on people before being considered fully safe around them. He has also been around other dogs and has gotten along great with the ones in his previous home, as well as others he has met along the way. We have not seen how he is around cats or livestock, though.
Stanley is honestly such a pleasant pup. He just needs a home with owners who understand what they are dealing with and can harness that extra energy into something productive. He would benefit from a fenced yard, owners young enough to match his activity level, and preferably even a doggie playmate that's his speed.
