Meet Zoe, our curious and silly little girl!
Zoe is a five month old Catahoula Leopard Dog/Pitbull mix. This affectionate and silly little gal is cute as can be! She enjoys spending time with people, exploring new scents, and playing fun games. While in many ways Zoe is your typical puppy, it can't be denied that she is a bit nervous and anxious around new people and in certain unfamiliar environments. Zoe has amazing potential, but she will need an owner willing to not only work with her on her fears and boost her social skills, but also be fully committed to seeing the entire process through. Zoe does show her spunky side rather quickly, but you do have to earn that trust first. Once you've done so, you're golden; so don't be intimidated by the thought of having to socialize this sweetheart - it's not as daunting as it sounds!
Zoe also still needs all the typical training that any puppy requires. She doesn't appear to have had any basic obedience, housetraining, behavior deterrence, etc. Zoe is well worth the effort and will no doubt reward you in full with her joyful spirit! This little lady came to us as a stray, which means we have no background on her. She did come in with a sister, and they got along great. We've also tested her with a male dog here at the shelter and they have quickly became best buds. We still recommend a meet and greet with any other dogs, though, to make sure it is a good fit. We have never seen Zoe around cats, so a meet and greet with felines would be a good idea as well. Zoe has met a few children here, and once she has the chance to warm up, does well. Zoe has not, however, had any training not to jump, and needs help to kick that bad habit. She should be supervised around small children to make sure she isn't knocking them down and accidentally hurting them.
