I'm not quite ready to go to my new home.

Hi! My Name Is Alma

I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon

** NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - Availability TBA**

Meet Alma, our newest mommy out at the shelter!

It seems like we have just been flooded with pregnant cats this year! Alma is the newest in the long line of mothers looking for a safe place to have their kittens. Like the others, Alma arrived to us as a stray and was only days away from giving birth. She has since given birth to four beautiful babies who will all be soon looking for their own forever homes!

We believe Alma to be around 3 years old. We actually had a chance to chat with her finder, and they said that Alma was an outdoor kitty that had become well known in their neighborhood. No one laid claim to her, but they all took turns taking care of her, and had even nicknamed her their little "princess." Having been used to an outdoor life, Alma was pretty scared when she first arrived her. She has never been aggressive with us, but she prefers small spaces where she can hide and feel safe. We gave her a while to adjust to this new environment, and she is finally starting to come out of her shell! As her kittens are getting older and have started exploring their room, Alma is coming out too and wandering around. She loves wet food, and will gladly come out of her hiding spots for a special treat! She also loves to be pet, and will rub up on your hand while you give her some love.

Since Alma was a stray, we don't know much about her history. She's sweet, albeit a little timid, with everyone she's met here. We have noticed, though, that Alma doesn't seem to be a huge fan of other cats. This could just be temporary as be due to her feeling protective of her babies, but we aren't sure just yet. We strongly recommend a meet and greet with any pets in the home to make sure Alma would be a good fit.

Alma isn't yet available to meet, as she's still nursing her kittens. Once her kittens are old enough to be weaned, our plan is to get her spayed and then help her find a forever home! If you are interested in Alma, keep an eye out for when she becomes available!
