**Serious Inquiries Only!**
***Chloa is now available for adoption. However, Chloa is a classic calico and demands that all human interactions be on her terms. She will require a quiet, patient and dedicated home that will give her LOTS of time to adjust. If you are interested in meeting Chloa please keep in mind that she it not happy in her current circumstances and it will take multiple visits to earn her trust. ***
Meet Chloa, our spit-fire senior! Chloa is a ten year old spayed female Domestic Shorthair cat. She's not very happy at finding herself in the shelter, so we're hoping her future owner is going to rescue her soon!
Chloa was surrendered to us through no fault of her own. Her previous owner left her with some family members, and they felt that Chloa deserved a home that could give her more attention. Now, Chloa is having a rough time acclimating to the shelter. This place is stressful for any animal, and senior cats tend to struggle more. She isn't feeling up to a lot of interaction right now, and is still pretty fearful. Even as she starts to get used to us, it will likely take a lot of patience for her to completely warm up to someone new. If you are interested in Chloa, we ask that you go slow and give her time to show her true colors. Once you prove to her you can be trusted, she will be a very loyal best friend.
Chloa has been around other animals before and did okay with them, but as she ages, she's grown to really like her personal space. Although we aren't requiring it, Chloa would prefer to be the only pet. If you are thinking to add her to an already-existing herd, we would strongly recommend a meet and greet with any pets first. We do know, though, that Chloa isn't the biggest fan of children. She's not gonna like any that are going to get in her face or not respect her boundaries. Please keep in mind that, as with humans, aging comes with all new aches and pains, so Chloa might not have a lot of patience.
It's typical for seniors to sit in the shelter longer, but we're hoping it won't be true for Chloa. When you adopt a senior, not only are you rescuing a pet from sitting in a kennel all day, but you are giving them the gift of comfortable golden years. Cats can live 15+ years with the proper care, so Chloa can still provide you with plenty of love. She's also already housebroken, and she's been around the block a few times, so you won't have to train her like you would a younger pet. If you're someone that likes peace of your own, and doesn't mind some quiet afternoons, then consider Chloa to be your new family member!
Chloa would love to not have to sit here for too long. If you think you can provide the type of home best for Chloa, stop by and meet her today!
