Meet Homer! Homer is a two year old neutered Domestic Short Hair cat. This handsome man is a sweet and affectionate kitty with a heart of gold!
Homer was found as a stray with severe glaucoma. His eyes were very swollen, and it must have been extremely painful for Homer. Regardless, he has been an unbelievably loving cat. Homer is super affectionate, and is the type of cat that is happiest when getting attention. His favorite spot is wherever you are, and he is always ready to make new friends! We've also noticed that Homer is extremely smart. He likely has been blind for some time, even before his eyes were removed, and he's gotten very good at navigating the world. He can hear even the slightest sounds, and will use his senses to follow you around the house. Regardless, Homer will need to be kept strictly indoors for the rest of his life. Without his vision, it's not safe for him to roam as he could accidentally find himself in all kinds of danger.
Since Homer was initially a stray, we don't know if he's lived with other animals previously. He has met a few cats here and did well with them, although he can get startled if they run up to him too quickly. We have not yet tested him with kids, but he's so friendly we don't think he would mind children. Just please be prepared to supervised any children around Homer until he gets used to his new surroundings. We strongly recommend a meet and greet with any pets or kids in the home prior to adoption to make sure your family is a good fit for Homer.
Homer is a unique and amazing soul who needs an equally special individual to take him on. If you are interested in Homer, stop by and meet him today!
