**Kammy arrived at the shelter with a severe upper respiratory infection. She has made it through multiple rounds of antibiotics and is doing much better, and has been recently checked by a veterinarian. The vet cleared Kammy for adoption, but noted that her symptoms are likely chronic and will continue to flare up throughout her life. Her future owner will need to be prepared to take Kammy for regular check ups to ensure she stays healthy.**
Meet Kammy! This poor girl has had a rough time of it lately, but she is finally feeling up to meeting potential adopters! Now that she is ready, we're hoping she can find her forever home very soon.
Kammy first came to us as a stray after the last snowstorm of the year. It was obvious she'd been fending for herself, as not only did she have a nasty upper respiratory infection, but she was starting to develop frostbite on the tips of her ears. We immediately got Kammy on meds and worked to get her feeling better. Despite coming in so sick, Kammy has been unbelievably sweet during her time her. She's the type of cat that just craves love, and is always happiest with someone there to pet her. Unfortunately, with her being in quarantine, we couldn't let any customers give her the attention she craves. Now that she can finally be played with, she just can't get enough!
Since Kammy was a stray, we don't know much about her background. We have not yet seen how she is around kids or other animals. We believe, due to her loving nature, that she would get along well with kids (but please keep in mind that any animal will need time to adjust when moving to a new home.) She also hasn't given us any indication that she doesn't like other animals, but we have not tested her with any. We always recommend a meet and greet with any potential family member, human or otherwise, before adopting.
Kammy has received her first round of vaccinations, and the remainder of her antibiotics will be sent home with her adopter. She is also already litter box trained. All she needs now is to get out of the shelter and into a home where she can get the attention she deserves! If you think you could be that home for Kammy, stop by and meet her today!
