Meet Saucy, the sweet and shy new addition to the shelter!
Saucy is an approximately 6 year old male Siamese cat. He recently came to us as a stray, and is taking some time to feel fully safe here. We're hoping he can find a forever home soon where he can truly settle in and learn what real love means!
One weekend, a car full of animals pulled up to the shelter! Saucy, along with two dogs we named Chancey and Shadow, were apparently wandering together near the highway. We aren't sure if maybe their favorite movie is Homeward Bound and they were just trying to recreate the adventure, but we couldn't resist naming them after the characters of the film (instead of Sassy, we named Saucy something a little more masculine).
Now, his name may suggest that he has some attitude to him, but Saucy is actually a really sweet guy. He's been a little frightened of all the loud noises at the shelter, but he's been so gentle with us even through the fear. As he gets used to us, he prefers to hide in the bottom of his kennel, and just asks that you go slow when meeting him. Once he has a moment to check you out, he becomes a very loving boy.
Saucy came in with two dogs and seemed to get along fine with them, but we have not tested him with other animals. We also have not seen how he is around children. He's not given us any reason to think he's aggressive towards them, but with him being on the shy side, it might scare him if small children get in his face before he's comfortable. We always recommend a meet and greet with any kids or pets in the home prior to adoption.
