Meet Odin! This firecracker is a neutered year and a half old Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix. He's super sweet and very energetic, and is hoping to get out of the shelter soon!
Odin didn't have a happy start to life. When he was still a puppy, he was seized from an abusive situation, and it took some time to get him healthy again. His new owners didn't have the time that he deserves to dedicate to him long-term, so they brought him to us to find a better fit. Odin is a real loverboy, instantly falling in love with everyone he meets! He's still in that energetic stage of life, and he would greatly benefit from an owner that can keep him active.
Odin has been around older children, and did well with them. He isn't fully trained not to jump yet, and since he's a rowdy player, he might accidentally bowl over some littles if not supervised. He's also been around some cats, and did okay with them. He's been around multiple dogs, and his previous owner said that he absolutely loved them. We always recommend a meet and greet with any pets or kids in the home prior to adoption.
With Odin's past, he's gonna be anxious in some situations that might not faze other dogs. He has some anxiety surrounding the kennel since he had to sit in one for a few months. We don't know the full extent of his past, but he will likely be nervous about being yelled or grabbed at. He has started his training, and knows how to sit on command, but he is not fully trained yet. Please keep in mind that you may have to adjust your training tactics for him to ensure he feels safe in his new home.
