Ruh-ruh! Scooby is looking for a forever home!
Our very own Scooby Doo has arrived at the shelter. This little guy is a 6 month old Carin terrier/Yorkie mix. While he's a little shy when you first meet him, once you see his true colors you will know that he is a little lovebug.
Scooby didn't come to us through the most fortunate of circumstances. Scooby and his brother, Shaggy (who has his own listing here on our website) weren't living in the best of conditions before they came to us, but they are trying their hardest to stay brave through it all. Scooby's original owner had a health emergency and became unable to care for their pets, so a family member went to take the animals in. When they arrived at the home, they were surprised to find more animals than expected, and couldn't keep up with all of them. They kept as many as they could, but brought the two brothers to us alongside 3 cats. Scooby doesn't appear to have been very socialized before he came to us, so he needs time to adjust to this busy place. He doesn't like to be grabbed at right off the bat, and wants new people to take it slow. Once you give him the time to open up, Scooby becomes your typical puppy. He's playful and curious, and you can tell he really wants love. If you are interested in Scooby, be prepare for it to take some time for him to be 100% comfortable around you.
Scooby has been around multiple other dogs and cats, and didn't have any issues with them at his previous home. Here, he met some other puppies in passing, and while he did fine at first, he didn't like it when they kept getting in his face. We have not yet seen how he is around kids, either. With him being nervous we don't think he would appreciate small children that are going to grab at him and not respect his space. We always recommend a meet and greet with pets or kid in the home prior to adoption. If Scooby does go home with any new siblings, he should be supervised until he gets used to his new family.
It also does not seem like Scooby has received any training. He is not housebroken, and doesn't respond to commands. He is still young enough to learn, but it will take some patience to get him in tip-top shape.
Scooby has received his first round of vaccinations and is ready to find his new family! If you think Scooby could be the dog for you, don't wait - stop by and meet him today!
