HSHP does not currently have a vet on staff. Instead, we call and make appointments with the local Vets in Hays. While these vets do go out of their way to get us in as quickly as possible and offer us discounts, we still accumulate expensive vet bills each month. We are seeing a steady increase in animals coming (stray and owner surrender) that need to be spayed/neutered or have a medical issue that needs treatment. In order to maintain our status as No-Kill shelter, we are desperate to keep this funding coming in at a steady rate.
If you are someone that absolutely loves animals and you want to help our precious babies get the absolute best care possible, please consider donating any amount you can to this fund!
The cost of spaying a female is typically higher than the cost of neutering a male. The amount can differ also based on species and the size of the animal.
